Key Takeaways

• The Chargers’ 30–23 loss to Seattle left Justin Herbert with two interceptions and questions about long-term fit, prompting whispers that the team should consider all options, including a potential trade.
• Herbert’s market could yield at least two first-round picks, with speculation that three might be possible given his age (28) and the rebuilding value attached to a star quarterback with a fresh start.
• Historical parallels are drawn to Matthew Stafford’s move from Detroit to Los Angeles, illustrating how a change of scenery can recalibrate a franchise’s roster through a flood of early picks.
• Kansas City, despite a 4–0 start, faced concerns about relying on free-agent acquisitions, the temporary absence of Tyquan Thornton, and safeguarding Mahomes against pressure while maintaining a stingy defense.
