Key Takeaways

• Tank Bigsby, the Eagles' backup to Saquon Barkley, sustained a core muscle injury in the loss to the Rams and is headed to injured reserve, with the expectation of a six-week return timeline as reported by NFL Media and Ian Rapoport.
• Saquon Barkley exited the Rams game with a hamstring issue, marking his second injury of the season after a shoulder stinger in Week 2; coach Nick Sirianni indicated there will be more updates on Wednesday to assess recovery progress.
• Barkley has carried 36 times for 182 yards this season, averaging 5.1 yards per carry, and had yet to score a rushing touchdown through Week 4, despite remaining visibly explosive when healthy.
• If Barkley cannot play in London against the Jaguars, Philadelphia would be down to Will Shipley as the only traditional back on the active roster, prompting roster moves from the practice squad.
• Three running backs on the Eagles’ practice squad—Carson Steele, Dameon Pierce, and Jaydon Blue—are options to elevate for the London game or to sign for depth, with Steele and Pierce having been with the team since training camp and Blue recently claimed from the Cowboys.
• Bigsby’s injury marks the first confirmed casualty from the Rams game in a season already featuring backfield instability, signaling a rapid strategic shift for Philly as they prepare for a high-profile overseas matchup.
