The Buffalo News
A 2.1 billion Buffalo Bills stadium project in Orchard Park is embedding technology at every layer, from design to operation. Three-dimensional modeling guides layout, spacing, and sponsorship opportunities while reducing field conflicts before construction. The canopy and under-field systems are engineered to melt snow, boost acoustics, and manage climate, with a dedicated 18,000-square-foot technology building to centralize IT, security, and connectivity. Grass growth and maintenance will rely on wireless irrigation, heating, and lighting to sustain a year-round surface, and a dense network of wiring and cellular/WiFi infrastructure aims to deliver seamless fan experiences, slated for a 2026 opening and tested well before then. The project emphasizes forward-looking infrastructure and digital control as core to stadium function and fan experience.
